Rules & Regulations

REGISTRATION

  • All students must be registered and issued a Library ID card before they can make use of the library. Library ID cards are not transferable; defaulters and accomplices shall be denied use of the library.
  • All registered users are required to abide by these regulations.
  • The University Librarian may suspend anybody found breaking these these regulations.
  • Silence must be observed in and around the Library.

DISCIPLINE

  • Bags of all kinds, umbrellas, etc., should not be brought into the Library, they shall be kept in the locker outside the library.
  • Making and receiving phone calls is prohibited in the library. Phones should be put on silent or vibration mode. Defaulters will be denied access to the library.
  • Power packs (chargers) for electronic devices are not allowed in the library.
  • There shall be no smoking or drinking in the library.
  • The use of any form of naked light, including candles is strictly prohibited in the library
  • Immodest dressing is prohibited in the library.
  • Spiked foot wears are not allowed in the library.
  • Food of any kind MUST NOT be brought into the Library. If you must eat, please, use the canteen at the basement.
  • No book should be marked, defaced, or damaged in any way.
  • Readers are held responsible for any damage to books in their charge.
  • All persons leaving the Library must be screened for unauthorised library property at every exit by library security personnel.
  • Computers are provided for the purpose of research and other educational endeavors. Misuse of the facilities e.g. game playing, e-trade, hacking, change of mouse, use of flash drives, change of Network settings is prohibited
  • The Library reserves the right to ask any person to stop using computer equipment if the library staff has reasonable grounds to believe that that person is misusing it.
