The John Harris Library is pleased to share that our University Librarian, Professor Jane Igie Aba, recently took part in the National Institute Capacity Building Retreat for Governing Council Members of Federal Universities in Nigeria.
With the theme “Positioning University Governance for National Transformation,” the event focused on modernising how Nigerian higher education is run. Professor Aba’s presence highlights the library’s work towards:
- Integrating Modern Governance: Aligning library administrative strategies with national educational goals.
- National Transformation: Ensuring the University of Benin remains at the forefront of academic excellence through informed leadership.
- Collaborative Growth: Engaging with the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) to enhance institutional capacity.
Professor Aba continues to lead these efforts to make sure the John Harris Library stays at the heart of research and academic progress at the University of Benin.
